4 years ago, May 14 2009, Barry and I officially met. We had been eye balling each other, and maybe said a word or 2 before that, but May 14 was the day we started speaking and became a part of each others’ lives. Our “official” relationship start date didn’t come until August of 2010 because life can be complicated. But this day has always marked the start for me. From that moment in line at the karaoke bar’s bathroom to this second, Barry has been in my life/head/heart every day. I can only explain it as love at first sight. It doesn’t work like it does in the movies. But I knew the second I laid eyes on him that he was something special. Like there was a big blinking universe arrow above him saying, “I can’t make it any more obvious than this!!”

It’s easy to fall in love. It’s another thing entirely to stay in love. And what feels so amazing is that 4 years later I can smile and say “I got it right.” He really is the one. We really are meant to be together. We have both put in years of time and effort now, and have come out better than ever. A relationship takes work, and it frustrates me when people say it shouldn’t be. Of course it should be! No matter what your similarities and differences are, being in a relationship consists of 2 different souls. Effort is key in developing a long lasting relationship, and our joint effort and dedication to our relationship has created something I can’t even put into words. True happiness and true love. That’s as pure and simple as I can get.

03.17.13: Happy 30th Birthday Barry! So not only did I surprise him with his brother and friend flying in from out of state, but I used that to deter him from the fact that I planned him a big surprise party on his birthday! Everything went according to plan, and everyone involved was such a huge help! I feel like we were put on this earth to be together, so the day he was brought into this world is so special to me. Without him, I would not be me ♥

Barry’s turning 30 this weekend and I really wanted to make it special! So I got his friend Jason to come visit, and Barry hasn’t gotten to see him in a few years. His reaction was priceless. You guys have no idea how hard it is to do things for this man! This was a miracle! <3 I love him so much!

03.01.2013. We haven’t done a photo like this in a long time, or really any photos for that matter haha. But after a particularly long day for me today, and feeling restless, I remembered that photography always makes me feel better and I’d had this idea for a while. What better way to brighten up your day than to create something that’s been living in your head with the person you love? This art of mine makes me happy :) and it thrills me to no end that the man I’m going to spend the rest of my life with will share it with me through this on-going project <3

My best friend had a little holiday shindig with ugly sweaters and delicious treats. We then watched the movie Troll Hunter, which is a def favorite of ours. I wanted to get a shot of the brave few that ventured out in the winter weather to enjoy this festive evening!

Photo 21: Sorry we got behind (again)! I was sick for a week, then it was my birthday week, and time just got away from us! This is what any normal night at our house looks like. Barry in his spot on the little couch, me sprawled out on the big couch. Tonight is monday night football so he’s watching the game while I’m playing on my new Kindle Fire (that barry got for me for my bday). Lately we’ve been watching Breaking Bad together when we have the time at night. We just share our space really well together and can enjoy each others’ company while doing our own thing ♥

Photo 20: Barry and I have both been up to a lot of new things, and one of which is that Barry and his friends started a new band called The Revival Heart. He’s been putting a lot of effort into it, and their first show is a little over a month away! I really enjoy the music so far, and can’t wait to see him on stage again ♥

Photo 18. We needed a break from photo project-ing haha! After doing the 365 we really didn’t want to lose momentum, but unfortunately we ran out of steam. Over the past couple of months we’ve both been working our butts off work wise as well as fitness wise, and the effort has really been paying off! Living a healthier lifestyle together as a couple has brought us closer together, and given us something to do as a couple and individually. Barry works a much earlier shift during the summer than he does for most of the year, and my photography is at it’s busiest during the same time so we both knew we needed to take some time for ourselves to get healthy.

I love him more and more everyday! We may have fallen off the photo wagon for a little while, but we’re back and will be posting every weekend!

Hello followers! So I talked to Barry about this hiatus we’ve been on and we decided we’re gonna resume our one photo a week after the summer’s over. We really just needed time to recharge and focus on some other stuff these past few months. Keep a look out in September :)
